The Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012

On the weekend of 2nd-5th June 2012 (yes, thet IS a long weekend, lol) Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her 60 year anniversary as our sovereign with her Diamond Jubilee. Exhibitions and events to mark the occasion began as early as March 2011 with the planting of trees in an ongoing project to create a four hundred and sixty acre wood in Leicestershire. Several touring exhibitions will begin making rounds of the UK in January 2012 displaying both portraits and photography of the Queen. Street parties are being planned around the country by communities and organisations in order to join in the celebrations.
